Rex Tillerson was appointed the Secretary of State on February 1 under the leadership of Donald Trump.Ministry of External Affairs claimed that both the leaders valued the ongoing strong relations between India and the US and said that it is in the mutual interest as well as regional and global significance to have such strong partnership.
Both leaders also agreed to increase the ongoing cooperation in the domains of security, energy, defence and economy.Indicating a new friendship in a old partnership, Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson had a telephonic conversation on Wednesday.Both leaders have resolved to work closely to deepen the strategic partnership between India and the US as well New Energy Suppliers as fight terrorism.
